Re: Seen at rallies

I laughed through that list  You missed the ‘don’t you know who I am?’ brigade - the Youtubers, ‘big on Facebook’ and those that think they are far more important than they are :clapping: Holzhammer and TerraBritannia - I'm sure that OG doesn't put you into this category   Ha! Re: Finds bag recommendation.

I bought this one earlier this year, pretty compact and pockets on the side one I put pinpointer in the other a very slim trowel. Main pocket I use for scrap and a clam shell type box for the good stuff. Can’t knock it for the money , been great so far. Doesn’t come with a belt but I had one anyway...

Re: What does your hammered coin collection look like?

I haven’t got room for display cabinets, all my small finds go in coin envelopes and get labelled with a field number. I’ll probably have one box for each year from now on. Or maybe two if I’m lucky! Sometimes it’s quite interesting to get everything out and arrange them in piles for each field,so y...

Re: What is this??

Looks like some sort of mount, looks almost zoomorphic at the narrow end but I don’t know if it is. Looks interesting though. I’m sure someone will know what it is.

Re: What does your hammered coin collection look like?

My collection is also a lot smaller! Being laid up with a knackered knee I’ve been watching a lot of YouTube vids, particularly the tinner ones over the last couple of days. What struck me apart from the quality and quantity of what him and his dad find was I’m sure he said that they generally find 1...

Re: Lidl root saw spade.

Funnily enough,I’ve been looking for a spade for some time. The three on my radar are the Greenmans old poaching spade, the Kent and Stowe transplanting and Caldwells poaching spade. I also had my eye on Gary Blackwells spadeand asked where he got it.He replied that he makes them, then heard no more. ...

Re: Lidl root saw spade.

Could always take a grinder to the blade and shorten/reshape it. I’ve been using a long handled magnusson pointed digging spade from b and q for tough ground . Reshaped the end of the blade to make it easier to get through stoney ground.Suprised at how robust it’s been considering the abuse it’s had...
