Perhaps all is not lost though as in previous years there have occasionally been last minute offers on popular machines in order to tempt waverers to part with their hard earned cash.
No Black Friday Deals on the Manticore so far.

The Black Friday emails from detector dealers are starting to arrive stating their deals on new machines. So far the only 'deal' on offer for the Manticore with the two extra searchcoils (15" and 9") is exactly the same as the offer that's been knocking around for several months. A basic Manti without the two searchcoils is a certainly a couple of hundred quid off but there is no earthly reason for anybody to but that option, especially as you will still need for fork out another hundred quid or so for decent headphones. I suspect that the Manticore is still selling well so the cartel feels that there is no need to discount it too aggressively.

I'm looking for a second manti for my son & I can't seem to find any decent deals either, I did get a email from minelab saying watch out for discounted merchandise including detectors?
Still haven't found what I'm looking for.
Minelab letting the dealers knock 200 quid off the machine only price, Crawfords doing extra coils for 100 quid each when purchasing a new Manticore.fred wrote: ↑Fri Nov 21, 2025 7:34 pm The Black Friday emails from detector dealers are starting to arrive stating their deals on new machines. I made a grumpy old man decision last year. I was fed up with companies jumping on the American tradition of Black Friday. I decided I’d not buy anything from businesses that promotes sales with this Americanism term of a Black Friday sale…. It’s saving me a fortune, certainly limits the places I will shop
Always carefully proof-read what you've typed to see if you've any words out.

"The vast majority of products on offer for Black Friday 2024 were cheaper or the same price at other times of the year, Which? research has shown."

Got the Minelab email this morning.
No plans for a Manti at £1600 but what struck me was the Nox 900 for £949. Every dealer I’ve spoken to has said there’s no point in buying one if you already have a Nox. I wonder how many they sold in the UK.

To be fair, it could be on the shortlist of quite a few who don't have a Nox and who don't fancy spending 1.5k+ on a first, or perhaps second, detector. I'd guess that the 900 was conceived by a marketing person as a way to extend the 'life' of the 800. I think it would be easy to underestimate how many people have become interested in detecting over the last year or three.
It would be fascinating to know the sales figures for each make/model over time, and to see the effects of promotions/competition. I think it's become a pretty big business.

All good points HD but also interesting that dealers I'd spoken to were pushing the Xterra Elite and not the Nox - maybe an easier sell for similar margins. It may sit well with our colonial cousins but my older Nox does me well and to quote from a Manti expert, "for my style of detecting".

They're probably just being honest that the Elite offers great value for pretty much the same SMF performance as the 900 though with less adjustments and less build quality. An ideal back-up detector for a Manti owner too.

That is the best that I have seen are basically the same -
Crawfords: Manticore £1,599 +15" & 9" £100 each = £1,799 (so I suppose it gives the option of not buying the coils - which ideally you need)
Regton & Spinadisc: Manticore including the 2 coils £1,799
So unless anybody knows better that is me sticking with the Nox.

Just looking..Spinadisk shop on fleabay has Manticore, choice of 2 coils plus an eBay coupon for 10% off, which is limited to a £75 discount applied at checkout. So the deal, with 2 extra coils, usually £1799 is now £1724.
Incidentally you can also get the Equinox 900 + 15" coil with £75 off making it £974.
