We had mixed fortunes on our last outing with visits to 2 permissions, one brand new and the other a stalwart.
The new permission didn't reveal any of the history we thought that maybe there, so after 2-hours, we decided to drive to a site we'd covered since 2015.
The field had been directly drilled with Winter Wheat and we soon started finding Roman pottery and not long after, several Roman coins.
Samian Ware and some nice pieces were amongst the sherds we collected from the surface, one, in particular, was a scallop-edged rim sherd.

Good selection there
Some coins in decent nick and others which look a lot like mine - plentiful but knackered
