Morning All,
Had a nice day yesterday on a bit of new land... i charged around a large area at break neck speed looking for the Roman Villa bit or anglo saxon skirmish area but to no avail! I didn't have much time so I felt this was a better use of it than sticking rigidly to a small section which might have held nothing. Sadly I don't think i'll get back on it til next year as the wheat is already coming through.
Anyway, loads of buttons and rubbish but also a William and Mary farthing which is a first for me, an Edward I or II hammered penny, some Victorian coins ( No Georgian...) some small bronze blobs which I think is always a good sign and the usual lead etc, ring pulls, carriage caps etc.
And then these two - nice button with a swallow (?) on it - the only half decent website for these seems to be the Google one but even that lacks where it counts but it does suggest Kearly family - it was found in Hants.
And the copper plate/ mount or whatever with quite a crude design... i know i've seen these but my brain is not in gear today and i can't think! Large book clasp or something?
Anyway any help/knowledge much appreciated!
All the B
Alexander

That looks like another promising site. Did you video that trip?
Yes I really don’t like Roman coins, I’m not joking

It could be very promising but there’s a lot of foil of junk in it too... I didn’t film it but I have just uploaded Part II oF “How to film your Metal Detecting”!!!
