Had a couple of hours out yesterday on the way home from work, managed a pierced Constantinople commemorative,

broken hammered, any ideas Tony ?

and an interesting button, yes, this is what I am reduced to, buttons :(

Anyway, turns out the button is from Christs Hospital School, an interesting establishment founded by Edward VI and with a uniform that has hardly changed since then, a mere snip at £11,950 per term these days, blimey.

Had a couple of visitors just before I left, always nice to see

interesting piece on the button, does yours date back to the Tudor times ?
Nice photo of the Chin`s.
Have always found the sound of them approaching, very comforting and when in vision stand and watch them until out of site.
Cheers,
Dave.

Cheers dave, nearer Victorian than Tudor I think unfortunately,.
The Chinooks seem to of been quietened down somehow since my day, they dont seem to slap the air like they used to, a lot of the time these days I see them before I hear them

Always been sad Clint but yep, age is creeping up on me :) I will even admit to baging and labelling 4 holers if they have a clear legend and name on them :? :? :?

Roman pierced coins are generally attributed to Anglo Saxons using them for a bit of bling Bruce, on necklaces and the like, been hundreds found in Anglo Saxon graves over the years  , never a dumb question fella

I’ll share some big ones I found this week. Blooming everywhere along with live ammo (now safely deposited in the big field pond). They sound so good too  not polishing mine though :rollinglaughing:
