Afternoon All,
I found this recently, drilled field, Hants.... I found a (literally only one!) photo of something similar online but there was no info with it!

Looks to be pressed copper and reads "CORONATION H.M KING GEORGE IV" with a No:68

I'd be grateful for any Knowledge - imagine my initial excitement when I first glimpsed the gold from this enormous disc while still in the ground!!!!!!!!

All the B
Alexander

The No68 is intriguing, were they a guest at the ceremony ?
Horse related ?
For some reason i am thinking mining ?
Very interested in how the Id turns up.
Heart stopping moment 2" of Gold coloured disc.
Great find,
Dave.

Might be worth doing a brass rubbing technique to reveal the lettering and highlight other features to see if it gives more clues

I don’t know if you’ve worked something obvious out with Holtzhammer, but the monogram is GRRG, so it reverses itself.

that did occur to me.... I do come across a number of coronation chairs doing the day job but have never seen one of these on them but it does make sense thank you!
