I love stuff about the proper plague - it’s fascinating and makes the current one look very lame indeed in terms of symptoms, speed, impact and spread. How did you stop yourself getting bitten by fleas then when everyone had them
Thanks Bob

Thanks Bob

Yes I really don’t like Roman coins, I’m not joking
Did anybody watch this, I've got it recorded.

I thought it was an excellent series.
I loved the way that they "experimented" with some of the things, for instance to demonstrate how the fleas were much less active in the cold, hence plague did not spread so much in the winter, and how the whitewash protected the walls.
I did smile when they showed the doctors "plague mask", a couple of months back I saw where somebody had been wearing one (probably a mock up not original) in the current pandemic ..... the police wanted to find the individual to talk to him ... it seems the mask had scared some children and they wanted to talk to him about it "being inappropriate". I might be mistaken but I understood that the government were advising people to wear masks, yet at no time have I seen them define "appropriate" or "inappropriate" masks.
