Heart stopping moment when finding this annular brooch.

Although it turned out not to be of the medieval period it was still a nice find.

Found in May 2018.

Can imagine how you feel.
Once detected a complete chocolate coin on the beach, just for a brief moment.
Now have the A-Ha song going round in my head, with the title of this post.
Cheers,
Dave.

That would sure have been a heart stopper when it came up.

Did you ever find out where & when it was made ?

Regardless of its age it's a cracking find, Doug. Anyone would be happy with that.

Thanks.

I have another 'high/low' find to post and I learnt a lesson from this one from the FLO.

I guess I’d have been gutted it wasn’t medieval too but I love it anyway, very nice find!

I’ve had a few things recently I was convinced would be special when in the field, only for them to to from silver to aluminium or from beautiful coin to crudy disc when I looked more closely. Can work the other way too I guess :D
Yes I really don’t like Roman coins, I’m not joking

That's a very nice looking find Doug, well done. How old is it?

Thank you.

Hallmarks too worn to work out but best guess was Victorian.
