We’re committed to doing more to publicise the importance of responsible detecting. With this in mind we’ve been developing a series of animated videos and we are excited to share the first of these with you today. This video outlines our Code of Conduct, a cornerstone of the NCMD’s values and one that every member must adhere to as a condition of membership. It is aimed primarily at new entrants to our hobby but is also a quick reminder of the code for anyone involved in the hobby. Please share it with any friends and family who may have received their first metal detector recently, or is lucky enough to be receiving one for Christmas.

In January and February we’ll be sharing three more videos with you. These cover responsible detecting (dealing with hoards, human remains plus ammunition and firearms), the Treasure Act 1996 and finally Scotland’s Treasure Trove law. Adding to these we released a sister video a week ago ‘An Introduction to the NCMD’, which we hope you have already enjoyed watching.

Please follow our YouTube account ‘The National Council for Metal Detecting’ to get automatic notification of these new releases.

I actually think the animation idea is a classic....
Its much better viewing animation than grubby old men rabbiting about rules and regulations
At least this way the animations keep your eyes amused whilst your ears transfers the words to your memory banks....

Gets a thumbs up from me

Watch it again and spot the extra details like the mouse the FLO is using and skull on the bookshelf. There’s loads more too :geek:

Yep the skull is a good one and the mouse, but you have missed the FLO sucking a lemon sweet.
