This is something that came up off some rig and furrow at the back of the house in 2019. Its about the only thing to come from this field apart from some George v coppers.
I've always had it down as a buckle, but am now having doubts and wonder if it could be a brooch, have no idea of date either.
Any ideas or opinions would be gratefully appreciated.
Thanks,
Reiver.

Nice to see regardless of whether a buckle or brooch.
If i had found that, would have said, buckle.
Cheers,

I would say very possibly a two piece knee buckle 1720-1790

Nothing exact but similar in the Ross Whitehead Buckles
