I found this few weeks ago and could see that it had some kind of design on it, but just got around to taking a better look at it now.
It is made of lead alloy, originally 40mm diameter so a decent size and appears to be a mount or badge.
It shows a crowned bust facing left.

The crown is made up of two cross pattee fitchee, between them a latin cross with a pellet base.

He appears to be wearing a toothed hair slide.

On the outer left is a 'W' (double V).

On the outer right is an 'R'.

My first thought was William III but it doesn't look like him?

The sides being bent in was clearly intentional but wonder if it was meaningful?
Any thoughts on who, what, or possible date?
I'm thinking about 17th century, which William III just happens to also fit!

Looks very William III to me and I love it! I wonder if it was bent to signal their dissatisfaction with him? There was a lot of anger amongst Catholics in particular so it wouldn’t surprise me if that was the reason it’s bent. Is it too big to be a button?
Yes I really don’t like Roman coins, I’m not joking

I guess it has to be William III really. How big is too big? It is very button like, at 40mm it could be a large button, it has a chunky central shank and a corresponding central pellet on the front.
Similar but smaller:

I first thought that it was too chunky for a button, but who really knows? Just what big button holes!
