I've said before my FLO, Dr. Simon Maslin (Surrey & Hampshire FLO) is very active in recording items and I handle just about everything with him via emails. He's also quick to reply on research questions and ID's. I don't do Twitter but his account always shows some nice finds and I thought them worth sharing (their not mine).

P.s only positive FLO stuff here.
What's your FLO up to?

Because I could foresee negative comments about FLO's as happens on some other sites. If that's what you want to do then start a separate post!

You are so lucky to have such an active FLO when others are not even sure if they still have one at all!

Good things come to those who wait.

I have two in Wiltshire, although they are both part time I believe, although one was full time last year (both part time perhaps due to Covid restrictions?)
They have some recent updates on the PAS and are creating new records going by the dates as new as day before
Quick replies to emails and also helpful, good feedback on my self recorded items, also still in contact with a previous FLO due to some earlier finds and a visit to one of my permissions.
Regards Steve

Simon Maslin seems to be very helpful on Twitter and he's kindly replied to a couple of my tweets in the past.

Also deal with Simon Maslin, very efficient and quick on responses.
Dropped items off and spoke with him in December at Winchester.
Normally check the PAS website daily to see what he is recording.
Top bloke.
Cheers,
Dave.

Our FLO quit and is now doing her doctorate on the Lenborough Hoard.
Her replacement wasn`t funded/supported by the County Council and the role was made part time by the paymasters.
We now have a 22.5 hour a week FLO based 35 miles away in Oakham.
Covid has obviously reduced the flow of work but it will be interesting to see the level of engagement and recording when things return to normal.

I've posted about Simon Maslin (Surrey & Hampshire FLO) before but today his Twitter page shows he's just recorded his 10,000th find for the PAS. Really helpful chap and I've no idea how he gets through so much work. An impressive milestone.

Maybe he should give other FLO's lessons in best practice?DaveP wrote: ↑Fri May 06, 2022 5:09 pm I've posted about Simon Maslin (Surrey & Hampshire FLO) before but today his Twitter page shows he's just recorded his 10,000th find for the PAS.
