Hello All.
I trust you are all well?
As hinted at in my previous post, here are a couple more finds I made pre-lockdown.
It's taken me ages to get around to all this!

One is some kind of escutcheon plate, that appears to have some age to it. When I look at it, it seems to me to have a vaguely zoomorphic look about it (dog's head?) but I may be barking up the wrong tree...

The other item looks to me to be a brooch perhaps, or a harness mount?

Any and all suggestions gratefully received. Sorry if the scale is a bit iffy. All cm/mm.
Hoping to go detecting on Sunday!
Thanks for taking a look, and stay well everyone.

The bottom piece does remind me of the things i remember on the handles of my old wardrobe when i was a kid, typical design type

Agreed on the top piece too, it does have the look of a dogs head.....

Makes you wonder if that area was used as a bit of a dumping ground and the wooden bits have rotted away
Seems strange to think how those items would find themselves on a field otherwise

A great post!! I can also see the dogs head. To me it is very clear and a great little detail. I can’t pass judgement on what the 2nd item is, so I’ll just agree with you and say it’s a Mount. 😂

I’m also getting out this weekend!! The first time in AGES!! What shall I give as an offering?? I don’t know if I could part with a choc chip cookie. Maybe some carrot would be sufficient. 😬😂

That top item is sending me mad. I know I’ve seen one before and I’m sure it’s book related - but I could be very wrong!!! I’ll go and look at a couple of books soon and see if I can find it. Love it whatever it is :Star:
Yes I really don’t like Roman coins, I’m not joking

Thanks Cath. I did wonder if it might be from a book clasp.
Be nice to find out.
