Good afternoon everybody, today on a Soil Searchers dig in North Hampshire, with Bob , and swinging my Nox, on my first outing of the "new Normal" following the peaceful days of shutdown, I was lucky enough to find an old silver coin, is it Roman, is it Celtic, I really don't know as I can't find it in my copy of Spinks.
The coin is 19mm in size, and is slightly dished on the reverse side.

I'm sure that someone will be able to give you an ID soon, but in the meantime I'm going to look at my new Spinks book and see if I can find it! :D Very nice find.

It looks Roman to me, but what do I know. :D

Whatever it is it’s a great find. One I wouldn’t mind

It's Roman republican mate and although I can't quite make out all the detail I think it's of P. Crepusius. minted in Rome, 82 BC.

Kevin, that is a truly belting find, mate  Well done on two counts...

1. Finding the thing and
2. Adding yet more Roman material to drive Cath round the bend

It's a cracker, chap, and if you're of a mind it would benefit from a gentle zapping.

Oh wow Kev even I’m impressed 8-) That’s a belter. A republican I wouldn’t sniff at, even if it is Roman :D
Yes I really don’t like Roman coins, I’m not joking
