Button-ish

This thing turned up yesterday and it was only after cleaning it up that I spotted the holes. It's clearly hand-made with a filed edge and although at 4-5mm it's probably too thick to be a button I can't think what else it could be. Copper alloy.

Many thanks for any ideas, though it's probably likely to remain one of them "not a clue" jobbies :thumbsup:

I’ve seen similar on a yarn twister....but I’m not saying that’s what it is.
Always carefully proof-read what you've typed to see if you've any words out.
Deus with 11" X35 and 9" HF coils. MI 6 pinpointer.

It looks slightly tapered like a plug so maybe a strainer?
