An odd bit?

This came up last time out. An iron plate with an asymmetrical copper/alloy part attached which has an asymmetrical shaped hole so may have some age? It seems that something would have been attached by the odd shaped hole? Any thoughts?

Part of a lock maybe Easy, looks like the copper alloy bit is key shaped ? :thumbsup:

It looks like it might be part of an old lock. Are there any hidden holes in the iron plate?

Ah yes, I see that now, it is like a lock plate. There is no hole in the iron plate behind it so maybe the back of a lock?

Edit:
It is just part of a modern lock mechanism, so scrap! :roll:
