You're not getting a long hunt and find story unless you want to hear about all the buttons. You know my feelings about them and it's getting worse. I'm now finding more of the really tiny, thin ones which in the current wet clay are a you-know-what to retrieve. I'm beginning to think I've done something wrong and getting payback.

The only thing of vague interest to pop up was this 'disc' which, while still covered in mud, I thought to be a blank George but has a little more to it.

I'm thinking French jetton but any help with the ID would be appreciated and I'm presuming there is little point in even trying to improve it?

Yes really, but I'm not fussed as most seem to come out grotty, except one that I saw which was black and shiney, I did like that one! :D

It's my first jeton and the condition is a bit of a disappointment. Hopefully a better one will turn up but I don't hold out much hope with the acid soils around here. This one is heading back to the landowner as they are keen to learn about anything found on their farm.

As for detecting at the moment - think I might take up golf!

Been there, done that  I was thinking about sending all my buttons to Poland with a message of "this box contains lots on English heritage - knock yourself out" but they would probably complain about ancient artefacts being exported without a licence
