Are you tweaking the deus much on this field?
Reason i ask is i saw a video with a deus guru, who was invited to a field where the guy knew there was roman stuff, but his deus would chirp like a canary
The guru spent the day tweaking some settings that apparently are ignord by most and the field came to life
Not being a deus user i have no idea on which settings he tweaked, but i'll see if i can track down the video again

Now, thats a coincidence Bruce because I never as a rule watch those sort of videos but I know the exact one you mean because I saw it a few weeks ago, he turns the silencer right up and then the signals start jumping out.
Like I say, ive watched very few of this type video, for some reason I watched this one and then I actually used it a couple of weeks ago when I was on a very strange bit of field, very minaralised, had a Henry VIII halfpenny and it came out with a thick crust on it, also had my first decorated spindle whorl ( which I think I would of got the signal even withought upping the silencer), I had lots of little signals because of that vid because I wasnt getting any before I upped the silencer

Yep, that was the one
I have never used a deus, but was fascinated with the tweaking and how he made the machine respond and react favourably to the field
An underrated thing is the silencer apparently, right up my tweaking alley though

I might have a play on the silencer if you’ve found it works Alloverover  I haven’t tweaked that one yet. Can I ask in what conditions it’s really worked, or is it useful across the board?
Yes I really don’t like Roman coins, I’m not joking

To be honest ive only messed about with it a couple of times Cath, there has always been a dark area of soil on one of my permissions, ive had a search around it a fair few times but never with any luck but just recently for the first time its shown up as a cropmark so I decided to really have a good look around the area.
On Deus fast with hfcoil it was very noisy to one side of the mark, lots of ground noise and mineralization, and hardly any signals, so havng recently seen the video we were talking of ( which I cant find anywhere now), I shifted the silencer to 3 and sure enough, started getting signals, a few interesting ones as well
I certainly wouldnt do it everywhere but its worth bearing in mind I think.
This is how the Henry VIII halfpenny came out, a really tough scale on it, not usual for anywhere else on the field.

Good work, that man! Bit greedy though - all them lovely tokens when there's them of us what don't get a sniff of one ;)

That field's turning out to be a belter, so please keep us appraised of how it all develops

No, its not that one Easy. The guy in question , Gary went to help out another fella who knew there was stuff on his field but couldnt get the signals out cos the whole field was too noisy.

Yes I remember watching that one in my Deus days too, I think it was just added to a Skill School vid.
