A couple of items I dug recently were not looking too good so I annealed and straightened them just to see how well they would turn out. The Victorian whistle was quite tricky compared to the Church Lads Brigade badge but I think it's an improved look for both.

About 30 seconds on the gas stove to a dull red, that whistle gave off a lovely green flame! :D

Many thanks for posting that, not so much because of the straightening which was interesting to see; but because of the Victorian whistle - the other day I found a "well it used to be something but I have no idea what" and seeing that photo it was a whistle (only the end and did not have the hole in the side so not obvious at the time).

As somebody who struggles to put a nail in straight, I have to say I am impressed, they really have come out well....
