Out today on a farm I've been working on all week, vans all muddy so might as well have today digging before it gets a wash, sod all came up apart from a small jetton looking thing & got exited cleaning the mud off the bulls head, then as it was getting cleaner & looking more like brass, realised it's probably just a poker handle or something, oh well 😩

Blimey Clint yes, I can just imagin the excitement of an Iron Age bucket mount draining away when its features became apparent and the thought of it being modern came into your head

Might be worth not totally dicounting it yet though ????

No, its got to be modern hasnt it?

I'm sure we've all had those "Yes!...No-o-o!" finds (usually a dead cert hammered which morphs into a button) but I can understand how that one would have had the old ticker pounding.

Looks like it has reasonable age? The bull head I mean.

Hell what do I know I can’t find anything even worth having a momentary heart flutter for
Yes I really don’t like Roman coins, I’m not joking

That had crossed my mind when I got it home but the shape and construction make it look more like a very small and more modern attachment to a fabric(strap end) so perhaps, something hung from it rather than it hanging a seal.

Whatever it is it's gilt metal of some sort and has joined the recycling along with my much prized collection of buttons!
