Over the last couple of weeks, since the restrictions were lifted, I’ve managed to get out for some detecting exercise on my ‘doorstep’ local permission. I’ve only had this permission since the 1st covid lockdown and was aware that it’d only be for a limited period of time. The fields have thrown up some interesting finds in the past, a gold half sovereign, and several hammered coins so I’d say It was one of the most productive permissions I have. The latest 3/4 sessions have been lean on nice finds though. It still throws up plenty of buttons, so I know finds are still there.
Anyway, on Monday I get the phone call: “mate, that 100 acre field is now sold and the sale will be complete by the end of the month, so you’d best fill your boots while you can” if I had had a million sitting in the bank, I’d have bought it.... but no :(
So, after work this week, I’ve hit the field for a few short hours until it got dark.
A few nice items have come up, so happy enough give the news.
It’s strange, 2 weeks of not much, then when the pressure’s on, up pop the nicer items... it’s like the field knows.
I got 3 hours on the field yesterday (post covid jab, so booked the afternoon off).
This item got my heart rate up a tad.....I saw it poking out of a clod, glistening in the sunlight and thought I’d found a huge diamond ring, but alas, I thinks it’s glass. The mount is copper alloy :( So, double disappointment.
I just hope the field ends the lean period! I don’t have long until I have to be off it.

Some other finds from this week:
If you know what the top right item is, I’d be happy to learn. I have an idea, but not sure.

Top right looks like a small medieval harness pendant shaggy, difficult to be sure from the one photo but does look like it

You best get a wiggle on to make the most of that field, but maybe the new owners will let you continue to detect it? To save time maybe just dig the solid clear targets? The item top right looks like a harness pendant, does it have a small hole in the narrow end?

Would also be tempted just to dig the more definite signals to save time.
You never know, the new owners may allow you to continue, then you can go back to a more thorough approach.
Like the Sixpence, even if it is 1933 and also the Clog clasp.
Cheers,

My first thought was the same as Allover's above - harness pendant. Be interested to see it from the side
