Afternoon All,
Eeked out a couple more bits this morning - I think the round one is a disc brooch but no idea about the other... thought it was a hinge or something at first when it was covered in mud as it is so new looking and in such good condition but the design looks like it MUST be something (37mm wide) ... any help much appreciated!

Oh wow your finds get better and better. Roman brooches are beautiful things but it’s the iron age things I marvel at - beautiful! :Star:
Yes I really don’t like Roman coins, I’m not joking

You're starting to get on my wick with this constant stream of cracking finds

I'd agree that the double disc wossname looks like a strap fitting. Certainly doesn't look later than early medieval.

Well done, sir. Again.

Meanwhile I'll keep digging up those 4 hole buttons just to maintain the balance! :D

Deffo a disc / plate brooch

Other item has the look of a fastener that would keep an item of clothing together quite ornate for perhaps a cloak or heavy outer garment?
Has a Roman look about it, and coming up with other Roman finds close by, just a thought?

I posted on Twitter and the general consensus was Roman for the strap mount

The nearest I can find is fig 23 on this sheet
