I was invited out today to the darkest corner of Oxfordshire by Oxgirl (Cath) just for a couple of hours as it was too bloody cold for an old sick person like me, but so nice to be out, Thanks Cath.
I went armed again with the Coiltek 10x5, and it again performed as you would expect when fitted to the Nox, lots of very small stuff, plus the usual farm finds, copper coin, musket ball, buckle, lead, and bits of odd iron with holes in. I shall let Oxgirl tell you what she found with the Deus. No disappointment for me, happy with what I found, especially as I am not fully fit or very focussed at the moment.
But I did find a first for me, and it is well for me quite exciting. As you will see below, I found some decorated Roman glazed pot, well I hope it is Roman?

Well done on getting out again, Kev.
Just being out in the country can be beneficial.
Slowly get back into it, build up your strength again.
Very kind of Cath, seems like a very nice person.
Hope the pottery piece is Roman.
Cheers,
Dave.

Great to see you out and about, Kevin  Not sure that's Roman, but it certainly looks old.

Great stuff, fellah :D

Lovely to see you Kevin too. Looking pretty good considering you’ve not been good. Love that pottery. As most of you know this place is awash with decorated pottery but nothing like this one has popped up before. I’m not convinced it’s Roman either but it is darn unusual and I like it a lot :Star:
Yes I really don’t like Roman coins, I’m not joking

Well done both of you for braving that Arctic weather!!!
I don't know anything about pottery but if the Hub wanted to install me as the "Key Expert" I would be consider it a great honour!!! 😁

Ok so not Roman then, maybe it could be Saxon, they used a thin clear glaze, and as can be seen here, bottom left, they also used the same ring design

I don’t mind cause no one else seems to find much when they go detecting with me although Kevin did have a few nice bits last time and Evan has had a complete 16th/ 17th century crotal bell and a spur on one visit. But usually others find nothing. Not my fault, these fields are just temperamental
