Had four and a half hours out yesterday morning, to be honest it flew by and I wasnt even in a haze of the previous nights alcoholic excesses as I had taken it fairly easy

Signals wernt overly forthcoming, ground was seeded and rolled but still pretty golfbally in places, was very dry as well, even after a bit of rain the previous night.
So, very first signal, yep, as soon as I stepped on the field was the Henry III penny, and it all went down hill from there, bits of lead and ammo related items followed.
I ventured out into the middle of the field where I seldom go and found the piece of Roman red fineware in the middle of nowhere, no other pottery about and just one 4th century coin if fairly close proximity.
One of the most intriguing bits of the day was the strange stone affair that looks like poo but is very sparkly and cristaline, any geologysts out there care to tell me what it is ?
That was about it really, a great banging start that stopped just as abuptly, was great fun though as usual and lovely to be out with the deer in the sun, just in need of a bit of the wet stuff to soak that top layer,,,,,,,never happy
