I chanced an afternoon on a pasture field that I had not searched for quite a few years and found it was still quite fun and more finds than I was expecting. The oldest was the hook from a 14/15th century locking buckle followed by a possible 15/16th century trade weight. Still the usual two bits of silver managed to show, one a Victoria threepence, the other with a monogram partially cut out of it.
