Out again on the farm this morning treading the frosty fields and full of hope as usual . Unfortunately the fields did not yield but it was fun all the same and you cant beat being out in the fresh air on such a fine morning . Plenty of signals and this particular field is fairly clean of the dreaded silver foil , so that is one bonus but it does have plenty of buttons all of which seemed to come my way over the next few hours .
While the good side of the land is now under full crop I am now on the spring barley fields which are not as productive although they do still throw up a few nice finds , you just got to work a little harder for them . I did have my very first hammered coin from this same field about four years ago and have had a few here and there so there is always hope . Today was not the day for me though unless you like finding plenty of buttons , in all I had 23 , all plain except for one which I quite like and if I was finding buttons with this type of decoration then it would a little more exciting .

The face is adorned with a very decorative "Gothic" style typeface , C,C,L . The rear has the makers details "J & B Pearse & Co , London .
It was the best find for me for the morning .

Nice find for a bit of research. It could be C L C.

At least the weather was on your side. Anything like heard and it would have been a pleasure to be out, finds or no finds

These type of buttons can be so frustrating trying to figure out the order of the initials never mind an actual ID. It looks like C L C to me too...Council...Club? At least you found something to ponder over.
