Anybody know a source for a threaded 3.5mm mono male plug to 1/4" female adaptor lead to allow me to use headphones with Nox?

I know Minelab does such a lead but cheapest I have seen is £38 which is bordering on extortion!

I don't need the lead to be waterproof, just want to be able to use 1/4" socketed headphones with the WM08 unit..

Thanks in advance...

Regards,

Peter

plenty on the fleabay site 3.5 to 1/4 or 1/4 to 3.5 plugs may be what you need

Thanks for the suggestion, but I have tried one of those, and their bodies too big to fit in the threaded part of the recess on the control box / WM08 which means you can't fully push the jack home to make a connection..

From reading up, it seems you actually need a short adapter lead, as the body of the male 3.5mm plug on those is then narrow enough to fit... I have found one such lead so far, but many of the reviews are scathing about the build quality, so I will keep looking...

It might be better to just use some headphones with a 3.5mm plug?

I just used one of the cheap adaptors of eBay and carefully shaved some of the plastic off so it would fit. It doesn’t look pretty but does work.

Followed your suggestion, and it works a treat!

Now need to write a small crib sheet for pairing each of the devices, other wise I can see myself getting in a real pickle at some point in the future!!

I use a a Sennheiser 3.5mm male to 6.35 female cable adaptor, it's about 8" long.
The 3.5mm fits snug into the Wm08, also takes any pressure off the adaptor.

That's the good thing about the 90 degrees 3.5mm headphone plugs too!

That's the sort of thing I had in mind originally, but the only pre made one I could find (something like VGC?) had naff reviews...Did you make the lead up yourself, or buy it pre made?

Also, does the 3.5mm male jack have the locking thread?

Brought mine ready made from hifiheadphones.co.uk no locking thread on 3.5mm.

Thanks Bob,

After making my previous post, I was using google to try to locate a suitable adaptor leads when I actually found a post you made sometime ago "elsewhere" ...In that you gave a Sennheiser part number of 561035....I have therefore managed to order one from the Audio Sanctuary for the princely sum of £6.20, including P&P...

Hopefully the item will be with me in the next couple of days...

I mention all this in case anybody else reads this thread in the future looking for such an adaptor..

Thanks again,

Peter

Just a quick follow up...the Sennheiser arrived a few minutes ago and it works a treat when plugged into the WM 08 unit, but not if you plug it direct into the rear of the control box.

I was aware this might be the case, as various sources on line say you need mono adapter to work off the Control box and this is a stereo version...It not an issue for me as I want it to use with the WM O8, but obviously some folks might prefer it to work with both...

And for considerably less than ML wanted for their proprietary adaptor lead
