Mixed feelings. Pleased you got it sold as it’ll result in your new puppy but very sad it’s the end of your detecting journey :(

They think it's all over - well it's not.

Puppy = beach = head down (https://www.themodernantiquarian.com/si ... orest.html) :thumbsup:

Seems there was lots of prehistoric activity along the coast.

Looking forward to your puppy's first post.

Yes at last. It took a bit of thought and a lot of patience, believe me. Gone to an older gent in Northampton. Or I should say ‘going’

Chris, yea I’m aware of some of the history of the coast-line around here. I’ve found a few bits on the beach myself and of course I found my part of- Polished Neolithic Stone Axe only a couple or so miles from the coast.
Bits often come up in the fields. Just need to keep your eyes open.
There was one little field on one farm, previously never ploughed. Tucked away in a forgotten corner. New owner pulled out hedges and included the area into a big field. Now that was interesting. It had just been ploughed when I went so decided to give it a walk over. Sun shining caught the glint of crystals spread over a small area. I investigated and picked up a few to take home. I was told that several burial sites had been found from the Neolithic period decorated with crystals.
Ah the stories we collect through metal detecting. I wouldn’t have missed it but know I will and already do. The history is just as exciting as most of the finds.

p.s. you might have to wait a bit for puppies first post. He/she hasn’t been born yet.

When you posted for sale Val, I had just bought the Multi Kruzer. Would have been very tempted. Anyway good luck to you and yours and enjoy your new pup when he/she arrives.

Hello to Chris and John and anyone else who’s interested.

I’ve come to live with Val and her family. I know she wanted a little baby but I looked at her with such a soft and inviting glint in my eyes she just couldn’t resist me. :D
My name is Tommy, I’m a Miniature Schnauzer and I’m 13 weeks old. I’ve been here since last Friday and I think I’m going to settle well here, the foods great and there are rabbits and squirrels and lots of birds to chase in the garden. I like going out but I really don’t like that thing Val puts around my neck. I love to run but she won’t let me. Walking is soooo slow. I like people, they say nice things about me but I don’t like big dogs, I shout at to go away.
Val tells me I’m going to be very handsome when I grow up. I’m not sure what that means but I’m sure it must be good. She also says I’m very intelligent because I’ve learned to ‘Sit & Stay’. Its easy, I only have to wait a bit and she gives me a tasty treat. I like treats :thumbsup:
Well that’s me done, for now. I hope you like the photo’s I've chosen, there were lots of them.

As Schnauzers go he’s not bad. They’re not the most prepossessing puppies but when they’re older and got nice eyebrows & beards/ whiskers they really catch your eye.

Thanks for comments Cath. Definitely NOT a detecting subject but I did promise pics. :thumbsup:
