Out for a morning on Saturday after the rain on Friday.
Went to a field where I had a Hadrian Denarius a few weeks ago now in the hope of possibly more Roman.
But alas it wasn't to be, but the moisture had certainly brought this field alive.
Three coins in total , one crusty George 3rd, a Victoria three pence and a Victoria Gothic florin 1859.
Not in the best condition, but still nice to find . I really like these coins , something a bit different from the other Victoria's , even if they're not the oldest coins about.

I agree - them gothics have something about them. Nicely found

Yes I`ve always considered the Gothic Florin as one of the most beautiful coins ever designed. The work that must have gone into designing it must have been hours & hours. A true blazon of beauty when they are in good condition.

Well done, they are a great looking coin.

Good things come to those who wait.

Very nice Gothic Florin.
What was the date of the Threepence ?
May have been lost with the Florin if nearby.
Cheers,
Dave.

I have to agree, Gothic florins are very attractive

Always carefully proof-read what you've typed to see if you've any words out.

No date on the three pence, pretty slick.Dave The Slave wrote: ↑Tue May 11, 2021 2:11 pm Very nice Gothic Florin.

Funnily enough I found my first gothic Florin yesterday...it was only three or four inches deep and I initially thought it was it was going to be an old drinks can as the signal was so loud lol
It was therefore a very nice surprise when I found this...Like Reiver it's a little worn, but it came up remarkably clean, in fact in the pics below its had no clean apart from a cursory rinse under the tap...Just hoping I find a brooch like Reivers next!

I have a couple of Victorian shillings somewhere, but don't really care for the design on those at all. These gothics on the other hand are indeed a lovely coin...when you look at a good one with all the detail intact, they really do look something special....
