Ok found this little squeaky signal and a full pin-pointer length down was this penny. I beamed cause as you know I love me hammies  :D :D :D

Anyway voided, no sceptre so class 1-3. It’s a full flan but has been struck off centre with a weak top half. I think it might be a class 2 provincial mint. I’m hoping it’s an Oxford one because I’m desperate for one from a local mint. Please could someone put me out of my misery? Ta :Luv Ya:

Two pics of the reverse in different orientations in case it helps :geek:

I had a fun day today. Didn’t find much - lots of musket balls, an iron prick spur, a belt stud mount and a toasted copper and lots of lead but it was the perfect detecting weather, even if the grass is getting a bit long. But this coin made my day, even if it hadn’t been an Oxford one. That’s all I need to have a good day - one disc if silver loveliness. Some people care about valuable stuff but I’d not swap this one for one worth ten times the value. Fred said, when I found my first hammered coin, that I’d get fussy after a bit. He’s partly true because we all want nice ones but every single one just makes my day.

This one is special though!

What we find can have a monetary value (i.e. whatever anyone's prepared to pay for it) but the true value lies in what it means to us personally.

I've found a couple of valuable coins but they ain't going anywhere
