Any update on these finds Reiver? Really interested on the FLO’s thoughts on possible dates (if you can’t tell us anything else) :shh: :D
Yes I really don’t like Roman coins, I’m not joking

Hi Cath,
Sorry no updates at present !
The suspense is killing me with regard to dating the two pieces.

Contacted FLO earlier this week but not heard back yet .

As you know Cath, the finds were handed in to the Durham FLO as Newcastle wasn't working for me.

Found out a couple of weeks ago that the Newcastle FLO has now left, so Newcastle is without a FLO at present.

Finders in the area advised to wait for original FLo to come back from long term sickness or to take finds to Durham FLO.

This present state of affairs is obviously putting the Durham FLO under even more pressure.

So , long story short, still waiting for reports to be written on finds which should date them , hopefully soon.

Handed in in June , not heard a squeak since , other than to inform me that the Coroner had been informed.

Thanks for the interest, will update you as soon as I have anything to report.

It’s a sorry state of affairs,no one seems to last more than a couple of minutes, before they’re off elsewhere.

I’m bursting to know. Maybe give him a nudge for his personal view. Well I would, but I’m a pushy cow!

Not surprised to hear the FLO position is vacant. On the bright side the original FLO has now had his kidney transplant so hopefully he’ll be back in the next few months. He seemed to have a good reputation

If you're bursting to know Cath, imagine how I feel.

I think you could be right about gentle nudges.

I also look forward to Andy coming back as Newcastle FLO, got on well with him.
