In the late 70's, I used to have a C-scope 950 VLF which I changed for a Whites something or other. Funny how I can remember the C-scope but not the Whites. Obviously I don't own it now. I do remember going to Carlisle to buy it though.

Until recently I had two C Scopes. CS6MXI and CS2MXP. I have aways been really happy with them and found lots of stuff. I would not have changed would they not have nicked the two machines out of my car. Now just changed to Deus, to try something new. All the wireless stuff of Deus is great but I think the detector itself does not outperform the CS6MXI. I could recommend C Scope to anybody.

I do a 3mx I don't use it though it sits in the detecting wardrobe along with a bounty hunter and 2 minelab se the nox 800 ain't been relegated to the wardrobe just yet ( and nope the wardrobe ain't in my bedroom, I ain't that weird)

I had a bounty hunter even before my C Scopes!

I 'think' my first machine was a C Scope 1220B and I loved it and its sounds . Why do we leave C Scope for such as Minelab or Deus? Have you actually done side by side comparisons, nor have I. Why not?
I can only think that C Scope aren't as cute at advertising as the others?

My first detector was the C-Scope TR treasure seeker that I bought out of my mam's catalogue for £40 in 1981. It was terrible on the beach and not much better on the local footpaths.

Once I was earning I went to Aitken Bros in Newcastle and bought a C-Scope C1220B because I couldn't afford the Arado 120B I had set my heart on. It wasn't half bad, found me loads and the discrimination was spot on. I wish I still had it to compare against the Deus, Nox, CTX etc.

Because modern machines are much more ergonomic and user friendly. My first proper detector was a C-scope and at one stage I used a 1220B which I won it at a rally. It was a great machine for it's time but I'd never want to return to those sorts of detectors.

Interesting reads. I was wondering, why do I automatically not even consider a C Scope against most other machines, there must be something seriously wrong with their advertising because, for all I know they could be the best machines on the market
My (almost) first machine was a C Scope 1220B and I loved it. Technology/electronics moves on and I wonder just how they stack up against a Nox 900 or a Manticore, I think I would like to know, just out of interest.

I still do have a 660 which i bought for 6 quids sold for 60 while demonstrating its rather amazing performances on the Thames found a nice piece of 18ct (pocket watch frame),then years later while leaving the UK the owner gave it to me as it wasnt working........did change the batteries and it work straigt away.

My first metal detector was in France a VLF TR 1200 which i paid (used) 130 quids in the 90s needless to say i think i have been shaft as my mate with his Cutlass 2 was kicking my but.........i almost gave up detecting because of this piece of junk

A CS5MXP was my first machine, guy at work was upgrading to an Exploder so sold it me for £50.

Got permission from a local farm on the way home from work and had found a Quarter guinea, a Commonwealth penny and a Denari in the first week so thought detecting was "easy".

Lovely machine, bit unbalanced but fun to use and taught you to swing slow... or it hurt!

Had it for 18 months before I upgraded to the Explorer SE and sold it on for £140.

Done me well it did.

Interesting... we are revealing our past C Scopes but the question remains, how good are they today? C'mon C Scope, we are talking about you here, jump on the wagon
