Amazing what they sell in the "Middle Aisle " at Aldi. 
Seriously, honest Detectorist, that gives the hobby good publicity.
Should have no problem gaining a permission , withy that honesty on his Detecting CV.

Maybe too identifiable to sell, so buried to dispose? They could have just left them on the owners doorstep instead.

He was honest, but the finds being in an Asda bag might have given him pause for thought about his future actions 
The likelihood of its being half inched were high, but I get the impression he'd have handed it in anyway - he comes across as that sort of bloke. I understand he's refused a rewards from the owner, which speaks volumes
