I found this earlier this morning while out with the Nox...
Being iron, I initially thought it was a small cannon ball until I cleaned it off and saw the large hole through the centre. There also appears to be a “pinch” in the top of the ball. The ball was covered scaly rust when I unearthed it, but that came off fairly easily. The ball is about 2 1/4” in diameter, while the hole is about 1 1/8” in diameter.
If anybody has any idea what it might be, I’d be very interested to hear...,
Iron “ball”???

I did wonder if it was a rope weight of sorts, although I can't imagine how exactly it would be used??
Would you say it's safe to label it as modern and consign it to the scrap bin?
