Love Tokens...

Visited two farms today in two completely different areas and found a
love token on each...

These were both copper coins ( no jokes about the Welsh being cheap skates please!) but one had a nice little surprise when I cleaned it up as can be seen below:

I have found a few love tokens since I started detecting 3 1/2 years ago, both copper and silver, but this the first I have found with initials on so I am quite pleased with it...

I think the reason I am so pleased with it is that the initials make it such a personal item...Question is, was it lost or did she throw it away? As always with this hobby, more questions than answers!

Not seen one with initials, Pete.
Hopefully with Ep, it was an extended play of a marriage.

Thanks for that..The letters were not visible until I cleaned the coin when I got home which shows yet again the need to check all finds carefully...

Out of curiousity, I sent the picture to my FLO and she is very keen to get it recorded, which actually surprised me some what...I suppose it's a little bit of social history...
