Possible Strap End?

I found this while on a club dig today...

Not sure if it could be a strap end or similar?

If it is, I would be interested in the approx age?

From the photos looks like the item is Bronze ?

I think so Dave, and it seems to have some age to it...

It looks sooty like it's been in a fire. Like a cooking pot leg. :thumbsup:

I think it's just the photo...in the hand, I would say the dark areas are the original patina, with the light green where that has been lost....
