Had this little thing at work today, when I found it I thought post medi lead token with the spru still on, then I noticed the small hole through the 'sprue'.
Quick look round and PAS has them down as an early medieval pendant, am not so sure though, they have been wrong before......once or twice  any thoughts ?

Just looked at the PAS link, does look very similar to figure 21.

It certainly does, and the size is about the same, too. Cracking little find

Cracking little item and invokes loads of thoughts as to what it denoted to the wearer

Unlike todays mass produced items, i would assume these sorts of things were quite individual in their designs?
Early secret society members identification maybe  ......but now my imagination is running away with me again, more coffee needed :clapping:

I would take a punt on Saxon. Too small to be a hanger of a later date.connected with horses anyway.
Pendant is what I would be thinking too. Very nice find and I'll bet now it's very old!

Is that a faint pattern on the back made of circles?

Can I ask what it’s made of? It looks more lead alloy than copper
Yes I really don’t like Roman coins, I’m not joking

Yes, lead alloy Cath, I've had a couple of bits of early medieval brooch in lead alloy before.
Think this pic shows it better
