How many artifacts do you think have been found and recorded by divining?
Metal detecting, yes.. Archaeology, yes..
Divining.. ? (Enter irritating buzzing noise from irritating game show)..
No.
The concept of dowsing seems to have grown to include the alleged detecting of almost anything...
Do you not think its just you Emily? I mean no offence by that, but some people just naturally seem to believe in all these types of things...
Or she had embezzled £100k off the company and needed a cover story!shaggybfc wrote: ↑Tue Jul 13, 2021 9:56 am I know this is going off topic.... but I'm like Pete – I know there is a logical, science based explanations for everything.... but..... this one time….
When I was a lad, I used to work for a company that was based in an old WW2 aircraft hangar. Between the 2 hangars was a barrack block that we used as offices, canteen and toilet lock . I was on an early shift, 06.00 start, it was winter so dark. After about 15 mins, one of the ladies left the hangar to go to the toilet. 15 mins later, she come running back in, as white as a sheet and obviously shaken. She claimed that she'd gone to the ladies and spotted a flying jacket hanging on the back of the toilet door. Thinking is was strange to see a man’s jacket in the ladies, she picked it up to take to the canteen. When she entered, there was a chap dressed in RAF uniform sat at the table drinking tea. She had a conversation with him and he got up, thanked her for returning his jacket and walked out. She followed him out but he had disappeared. That's when she thought it must have been a ghost and came running in.... needless to say, she was ridiculed for the rest of the week. She however said that he told her not to worry, that she'd come into money very soon. That Saturday she won £100K+ on the pools.....
So who knows – was it coincidence? Maybe, maybe not…. but it made me think.
It could’ve absolutely been just me. My husband (boyfriend at the time) couldn’t see what I was seeing, it was outside as very dark and it might’ve been my eyes playing tricks on me. My mind knows what it saw, but that doesn’t mean it was actually there.Pete E wrote: ↑Tue Jul 13, 2021 12:14 am Do you not think its just you Emily? In contrast, I tend to be naturally skeptical about these sorts of things and have to make a conscious effort to keep an open mind about the unexplained...
I can think of only one or two "strange" events which I can not explain...
The first series of events happened about 10 years ago not long after I met my other half, Lisa....When we met she lived in a fairly typical three bedroom house built in the 1940s/50's and had lived there about 2 years.
After she moved in, she became aware of a "presence" she christened Tommy, a young boy she fleetingly saw around the house when she was there on her own. The internal doors had frosted glass panels, and she often saw Tommy walking past these windows while she was sitting in the front room. Additionally she would come down in the mornings and find things out of place; a clock turned to face the wall, or books off a book case left in a messy pile on the floor...
I scoffed at these stories and teased her a bit about them, untill one day I was sitting in the front room watching TV by myself, when the TV remote which was on the arm of a chair across the room literally flew off it and ended up on the floor in the middle of the room. This was not an item merely falling, but looked like it had been chucked 5 or 6 feet...
Lisa was (& still is) convinced that it was just Tommy "being naughty" where as I just see it as something I couldn't explain, and because I could not explain it, it does not mean it's anything super natural.....
That experience is exceptional. I probably wouldn’t be afraid either if it looked, moved and talked like a real person and prophesied that I’d come into money soon, but I would’ve been freaked out the moment anything ‘strange’ happened, like him disappearing. I can’t deal with that kind of thing and although I don’t suppose ghosts exist to hurt people, I am scared that they could.shaggybfc wrote: ↑Tue Jul 13, 2021 9:56 am![]()

Not really a single event but sort of a series of odd happenings...
