This was the ‘highlight’ of a post dinner 90 min trundle round a field last night. Two nights in a row I’ve done this cause I’m bored of watching TV and I’m trying to take advantage of the lovely long evenings. The night before I was rewarded with two buttons and a Vicki halfpenny so I guess this was an improvement ;)

From a field with no Roman stuff normally. It looks like the fat necked, flat faced bloke that is on the silver coin in the top header? The other side is impossible to see anything in my view. Looks and feels like a proper Roman minted coin though.

Thoughts?

Thanks Allectus. Hope you are right cause that’s at least 50 years earlier than the other coins found in this village.

Can only locate sestertius too, guessing everything else is beyond detecting range :?

Nothing wrong with a Hadrian Sestertius, Cath.
You don`t get many of them to the pound unlike Hammereds. ;)
Cheers,
Dave.
