Found this today on a club dig in Wiltshire, on a stubble field that had been cultivated .
Using Hf elliptical coil on Hot programme , 31khz.

I think the design is really lovely. I’d have said it was a pendant, but there’s no hanging hole for a chain, so instead, I think it might have been mounted on something. A great find!! 😃

The design looks deco, early 20th century. Bet it had paste stones originally and possibly a bag decoration or similar?
Yes I really don’t like Roman coins, I’m not joking

All those paste stones look the same to me  . Now if you were talking sapphires, diamonds or rubies that’d be a whole new ball game cause I would know the difference. Obviously just as a very interested lady rather than an expert I hasten to add :D

I have found a few similar to this, usually with most of the glass stones missing. I think they are cheap brooches of maybe 1920/30's?

Ah, well Marcasite’s aren’t paste, but I am also deeply interested in rubies, diamonds and sapphires. 😂

Looks very Art Deco with that Rhombus shape.
Would have been something to admire with the stones still in there.
Interesting find, Bob.
Cheers,
Dave.
