A bit of oil might not go amiss

Would you like that as a second entry, chap?

I know how to liven up a Friday night, I've just been sorting through a years worth of buttons! :D Of course there was beer involved, I even found a blank silver sixpence in amongst them. But there were a worthy group of not so boring crusty buttons to add here.

Two crusty buttons, the first is 27mm and possibly military? The other is a 15mm livery button of two families. Both should clean up.

God I need to go find something decent to clean up. Right that land owner is getting hassled tomorrow. They must have harvested by now :|

This is my entry. Found today. Copper coin, that had a bit more detail when fresh out of the ground. I’m sure I could see a harp, maybe an Irish Elizabethan??? Who knows…. Needs some nice new cleaning pens to find out

This Quadruple crest button found by my detecting buddy has so far eluded the button experts for a definite Id.

We are going to try and have it recorded on PAS as quad crests seem to be scarce.
The pens will be a useful to get the crud off the back, there is writing but the crud is very hard to break through.

Cheers,

Why didn't anybody tell me? Eh? I mean why didn't someone say, "You kept touting for votes two days after the poll closed, you daft ole prannet?"

Sorry about that, but it's been a long, hard week and the brain cell grafted on to accompany the other one sadly didn't take.

Any road up, the winner is Alloverover and his pierced halfpenny (no sniggering at the back). Poll results here

Well done, Phil, and if you PM me where you'd like the pencils sent I shall make it so.

Thanks all
