My detecting friend found 2 coins on Monday.
One being a Roman i mentioned.
Struggling to get decent photos but any info appreciated.
12mm x 13mm,found on stubble, approx 6" down, using a Deus.

The figure standing looks like it is cowled ?
Second coin was an Edward VII Farthing 1904 ?
Yet to find one of his coins myself.

Thanks for any forthcoming info,

Hard to tell, but I'm wondering if that's one of the curly-headed Antonines facing left? A bit Marcus Aurelius-ish, kinda kidney.

EDIT:
Good grief, I can also see a profile facing right
Any chance of a sharp image, Dave?

Trouble with the human brain is that once you've seen something you can't un-see it and I'm still seeing left-facing. You could try photographing with a torch at a low angle to highlight relief or another trick is to rub a pencil over it, rub it in with a digit, and see if any detail emerges.

Or you can just wait for an expert to come along

Give me a Denarius any day of the week. Far easier to Id.
Cheers,

Are you sure it's bronze and not a silver quinarius under that?

A little bit of gentle cleaning with a toothpick might get the reverse cleaned up a bit better? I’m seeing a bloke holding an axe or something but I think it’s the grim reaper so I might have imagined that
Yes I really don’t like Roman coins, I’m not joking

I have seen that axe at least once too. Grim reaper type figure, with what looks like a cowl.
See if i can improve it tomorrow.
Cheers,
