Just a quick heads up that Home Bargains are doing a 10" led ring light for £8.99 at the moment, which looks like it might work well to produce evenly lit find photos . It's billed as a desk top selfie light and comes with a short table top stand which may or may not be useful for finds photography.

It has a choice of three different "Whites", has adjustable brightness. and is USB powered....it will need a little fettling to use horizontally, but it shouldn't be too difficult to sort...

I have not bought one yet, but probably give one a try, as it might be handy now the evenings are drawing in and natural light is about to become more scarce....

I am at that age where a paper bag would probably be the best bet for that!

I have a Livarno Lux led desk lamp from Lidl which is good for photography lighting of finds as it has 5 light tones and 5 brightness adjustments. It can also be set in any position as it has two joints and the base and head rotate.

Yep, it has a ball joint so should be able to crank it over, will likely just need raising. It should give a quite even light spread over A4 or larger where my lamp would maybe cause some shadowing.

I use a ring light and they do give a very good, even illumination

But nowhere near enough to hide my wrinkles
