Good evening

Now I am a lady of leisure I am enjoying having more time to detect  I’m still waiting on my good fields to be harvested so I’m still stuck on a very heavily detected field that doesn’t produce much. Yesterday’s ‘highlights’ were these two partefacts. If your bored please could you throw out your views on what you think they are/ age? :Luv Ya:

Number 1 - part of a buckle? But what age? This field is predominantly Roman to fifteenth century - thinking early medieval?

Number 2 is lead or lead alloy. Is it part of a pilgrims badge or something more mundane? I don’t know what else it could be…

Hmmm could be a purse bar top  More likely a stirrup shaped buckle?

Hell I don’t really know either

That’s more what I thought it was  The shape was used from early medieval onwards so I was interested to see how you can age them. Some are more rounded whilst this one is more stirrup shaped and substantial. I guess that makes it more likely to be medieval?

Looking from another post, could the second item be a broken part of a lead battery plate?

Always best to take in the size perspective first! So maybe just a 7mm x 9mm?
