A little Victoria silver 3d with the inscription "Annie" which made me wonder who the heck is Annie.

It was one of those times when a find really made me stop and think about a time when Annie dropped it and i was the next person to see it over a hundred years later. I did ask the Farmer about the history of the farm but unfortunatley he has only been on the farm for about 15 years and did not know much about the previous owners.

Maybe someone up there called Annie is saying "hey that's mine, glad you found it for me". Anyway, I may never know who the heck is Annie but it was my find of the day.

Great find, and a very personal one too :clapping:
A lot of effort went into the Annie scribing, and i would hazard a guess it wasnt from a rich or posh person, looks more like a working class show of love to Annie
Would love to find something like that

Lovely find :Star: Never found a love token like that so very jealous :D

P.S. Hope you don’t mind but I’ve slightly changed the title cause swearing in titles is a no no - pretty laid back on mild swearing in the main body but not on titles
Yes I really don’t like Roman coins, I’m not joking

Not your everyday Vicky, that one  Professionally inscribed, too.

Don't you just love it when a find stops you in your tracks to think about whose it was?

Absolutely, it's like a time machine taking you back to when it was dropped.

What fantastic engraving of the name "Annie", it must have been done by a skilled man rather than your average "ag lab".

Who ever Annie was some man thought a lot of her and obviously loved her.

Last year I found 2 silver love tokens close together. I wondered what the story was behind them, was it a case of two men sending love tokens to one girl, or was it one man sending two tokens to the same lady after the first had been rejected, or may just pure coincidence and they were unrelated (which I doubt). I will never know as there were no clues to when these love tokens were given or who to ..... IF only our finds could talk.

Impressive quality of engraving especially on a 16mm coin.
