Never found a modern gold ring in an arable field before, did on Monday though, was very odd to see it pop up on the 2nd signal, I keep finding things either right at the beginning or right at the end of a session but not complaining.

Its only a tiny one, .375 and weighs 2.3 g with a sliver of diamond in it but it made a real change to find :D

Cor, is that an engagement ring? Hope not, in a way, but a great find whatever

TOP TIP:
Detect for 10m/10minutes (whichever is the shorter).
Stop
Drink beer
Detect for 10m/10minutes (whichever is the shorter) in the opposite direction.

Thank me later

Nice find, I wonder if it was lost by one of the Women's Land Army? The hallmark may give a clue?

Great find Phil! Does the better half get this one?
Yes I really don’t like Roman coins, I’m not joking

More likely my little girl Cath, not sure it would fit the Mrs :silent:

Shame such a lovely little thing would only get about 35 quid scrap, best to keep it

Looks like maybe Birmingham 1931, a better pic of last two would clarify.

Nice find unusual to find an engagement ring rather than a wedding ring, having said that i assume engagement rings are much more modern.
Cheers,

Ahhh a poor fair maiden lost that ring whilst frolicking through the wheat stalks
Dont think i have ever heard of a random engagement ring found in a random arable field before

Love Figgis idea of 10 mins tecting and 5 mins beer drinking, sounds like a cunning plan :ugeek:

That'll explain the focus! Gee, the date letter first looked to me like a G, now a V? :?
There are P&FJ gold items of 1960's & 1970's so maybe not too old after all?
