Rather dramatic I know but may be worth it!

Afternoon All,
What with a double whammy of getting thoroughly cheesed off with all the stubble round my way and moving house which is always hell, I haven't been very interactive recently, sorry!

All that may be about to change as I am settling down in the new gaff and am finding some more productive fields are becoming available and this morning I found these two things amongst others on an onion field recently harvested.... it was so hot and sandy I felt like drawing up a deckchair and putting some shades and swimming trunks on!!!

Anyway I am thrilled with these and have an idea or two but by no means certain as to what they are so any help much appreciated. I haven't cleaned the bronze 'ring' yet as I want to be careful... I didn't realise out in the field that it had yellow enamelling in the roundels... at first I thought it was one of those 'waisted' lead things you find but I think it is something rather grander now... its too small to be a finger ring...

And the lead was about to disappear into the scrap bag as it just felt like a lump but I noticed a bit of detail and wiped off the gritty sand which has a way of really engrainiing everything from this field but actually is quite a preservative once you get it off... its quite thick but no sign of an ampulla type aperture or anything like that.

Any thought most welcome!
All the Best
Alexander

Wow, that would be a lovely papal bulla if it hadn't been squashed, still a great find.
T'other one looks very old.

Excellent finds Alex, blooming well done fella

Ok, you are all gonna laugh at this, but could your bead/ring object be like a viking or celtic "beard ring"
Or maybe strung with others to form a bracelet/necklace?

I'll get me coat and go make a brew :ugeek:

Ta! As its a bit squashed I seriously almost binned it as yet another bloody slablet of lead... a bit of detail just caught my eye fortunately!
