So the spearheads have been posted about specifically, but here are the other finds. A lot of lead including two very large bits with holes in the bottom, buttons various, a selection of bronze partifacts, (2 of which seem to show some kind of decoration), pottery, and 2 coins. A Vicky 1873 and one other which is completely unreadable and one weird tiny bowl thing. 🤷‍♀️

I’d love any ID’s that you can provide. 🥰

The lead on the right looks like a line weight. Could the 'small bowl' be part of a button?
It looks promising land.

On the other post, it seems that I came across 2 speak head partifacts, I can’t quite believe it. I’m hoping there’s a whole one out there.

I agree, it does look like a Star Trek badge. Haha. 🖖🏻🖖🏻

And of course. We only use the best kitchen roll in this house. 😂

Never mind that, the plough may have just taken the top off a hoard!

A line weight like for fishing?? There did used to be a fishery a few fields down. They’re pretty industrial though. They weight a lot.

I don’t know what the bowl thing is. Maybe it’s from a tiny tea set. 😂

Maybe. The issue is that there’s a whole chunk of land that I can’t search as it’s a scheduled monument, so if there is a hoard, knowing my luck it’ll be in there. Haha.

Those weights can also be for rabbit or hare snares too, not just fishing :D
Yes I really don’t like Roman coins, I’m not joking

Great finds, very well done.

Bronze Age items are high on all detectorists "wish lists" ... and ticked off on very few.

As others have said with that collection of bronze items its one for the FLO.

I agree with what Oxgirl "means", but not what she says (snares) which I am sure is different to what she meant (nets).

As soon as I saw them I thought the weights were probably from the bottom of long nets for catching rabbits.
While snares are wire loops with no weights.

As the subject can be emotive I will not give any more details here but a online search for "rabbit longnets" will give the background, including history if you look at the right sites.

I emailed the FLO yesterday, so we’ll have to wait and see if/when he get back to me. ☺️

I looked up the nets. It looks interesting and I think you’re right. ☺️
