Quick update:
Through the treasure process it goes...

So they reckon its over 300 years old then? I guess you might see it again in about 3 years time! ;)

I did try to say that I believed to it to be latter part of the C18 at the earliest, but hey, I have no problem with the process really - other than the timescale taken.

Brilliant find…part of me would repair but I also rather like the “ribbon” effect…! And unfortunately I don’t have to make the decision…!

Update - So the FLO came back after seeking some assistance from the BM. They believe that it is just shy of the requirement to be treasure, so it was handed back. That was 2 weeks ago.
A local jeweller and now repaired it so it shines once again.
They also said that’s it’s not hallmarked and is 22ct gold.
I’ll actually be handing this over to the landowner to keep

I am very pleased that a treasure item of mine was also disclaimed last week. :D

Well done Shaggy, great result & repair,
Feels good to get a gold find back from the treasure process, I had one returned in 2011 dated to 1720-30 & not 300 years old, but it is now!
