Hello all.
I had a dabble into detecting many year ago.... But it didn't last too long.
Have now got a new machine and I'm hooked 😂.

Welcome Jerry, I’ve not been on here long myself, you’ll find everyone friendly and really helpful. I’ve had loads of good advice on various things and plenty of ID help with finds so don’t be afraid to ask away .

Welcome Jerry to our merry band :D

Absolutely nothing wrong with a simplex - it’s a great machine  Please don’t ever worry about asking about anything from advice to IDs. We’ve all dismissed stuff as rubbish that wasn’t and quite a few have thought modern tat was Roman as well. Personally I haven’t thought anything was Roman that wasn’t (I would prefer Roman stuff wasn’t Roman in reality) but I constantly try and project Saxon onto medieval items  Anyways what I’m saying is post away and don’t ever worry about being laughed at cause we aren’t like that
Yes I really don’t like Roman coins, I’m not joking

Welcome, Jerry. We're all hooked on one thing or another - I'm addicted (in no particular order) to detecting and gin.

Hope you enjoy your time here, fellah
